DNS Records

Point your domain's email at NaxerTech.

These records go wherever your domain's DNS is managed, usually your registrar or Cloudflare. On Business and Corporate we can add them for you.

The records

What to add

Replace any existing MX records; keep everything else (your website's records) as it is. Where the name is @, some providers want your domain name instead or leave the field blank.

TypeNameValueWhat it does
MX@mail.naxertech.com priority 10Delivers your domain's mail to us.
TXT@v=spf1 mx ~allSPF: says which servers may send mail for your domain.
TXTdkim._domainkeySent to you by email, unique to your domainDKIM: a signature that proves mail wasn't forged or altered.
TXT_dmarcv=DMARC1; p=quarantineDMARC: tells other servers what to do with mail that fails SPF and DKIM.
CNAMEautodiscovermail.naxertech.comLets Outlook and phones find their settings.
CNAMEautoconfigmail.naxertech.comLets Thunderbird find its settings.
SRV_autodiscover._tcp0 1 443 mail.naxertech.comOptional. Helps Outlook when the CNAME above isn't enough.

Already sending from other services?

One SPF record, not two

A domain can only have one SPF record. If you also send through a newsletter or invoicing service, combine them into one, for example v=spf1 mx include:mailgun.org ~all. If other services send as your domain, start DMARC at p=none until each of them is set up to sign your mail. Ask us and we'll write both records for you.

PKNIC (.pk domains)

PKNIC itself only stores your nameservers. Add the records wherever those nameservers point: your web host's control panel, your reseller, or Cloudflare.

Cloudflare

Add the records under DNS › Records. Set the autodiscover and autoconfig CNAMEs to DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied.

GoDaddy, Namecheap & others

Look for DNS, Manage DNS or Advanced DNS on the domain. Delete the old MX records (often pointing at the registrar's own email) before adding ours.

After you save

How long until it works?

  1. Most changes take effect within an hour. Some providers take up to 24 hours, and the old MX can linger in caches for as long as its TTL.
  2. Until then, some mail may still arrive at your old provider. If we migrated your mail, a final sync picks it up.
  3. Tell us when you've saved the records and we'll check them from our side.
